Sempra to appoint C.J. Warner to board of directors

Warner is President and CEO, and on the board of directors, of Renewable Energy Group, a US producer of biofuels. She has over 35 years of experience in the global energy industry, and has previously served in executive leadership roles with Andeavor (formerly Tesoro Corp.), Sapphire Energy and British Petroleum (BP).

Jeffrey W. Martin, Chairman and CEO of Sempra Energy, said: “Our strategic mission is to become North America's premier energy infrastructure company.

“With C.J.’s considerable management experience in the international oil and natural gas industry, she will add critical global energy experience to our board as we look to become a leader in our industry in electric and natural gas infrastructure, including the development of vital export infrastructure for LNG.”

Warner has served in her current role with Renewable Energy Group since January this year. Before joining Renewable Energy Group, she served as executive vice president, operations for Andeavor – an integrated marketing, logistics and refining company – and as executive vice president, strategy and business development for Andeavor. Before she joined Andeavor, Warner served as president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of biofuels company, Sapphire Energy. Prior to that, she served as group vice president of global refining and group vice president of health, safety, security, environmental and technology for BP.

According to the statement, Warner serves as a member of the board of directors for IDEX Corp. and serves as a member of the National Petroleum Council.
