LNG Industry,
According to the latest Reuters report, Chinese LNG buyers are looking to resell LNG cargoes via the spot market.
This latest trend is being prompted by Chinese LNG inventories being well-stocked during a period of weak demand, caused by a slow economy and mild winter conditions.
China’s natural gas demand is reportedly expected to increase at half of last year’s expansion rate. A key contributor to this is the fact that, in response to the current weak state of the economy and competition from cheaper coal, the Chinese government has slowed its push towards gasification, at least for the time being.
