An environmental assessment panel has recommended that the Goldboro liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant should proceed, with a number of conditions.
The panel was appointed to conduct a Class Two Environmental Assessment. The final report was presented to Environment Minister, Randy Delorey.
Tony Blouin, panel chair, commented: "We have carefully reviewed the information provided and input received, and the panel has recommended that this project proceed with a number of conditions. I want to thank everyone who provided comments during this review."
Delorey has until March 24 to issue a decision.
