Adverse weather forces cargo loadings at NWS project to come to a halt

The project is operated by Woodside Petroleum, which declined to comment on the loading operations. Nevertheless, Reuters reports that the company said that “is taking the necessary precautions to safeguard our people and assets.”
Reportedly, traders have said that these loadings delays are not to likely to have an immediate impact on the price of either LNG or condensate, because adverse weather in the region is common at this time of year. One Singapore-based trader went on to say that the impact of these delays is minimal, because producers can claim force majeure, adding that, “Also, demand is now quite weak.”
BHP Billiton, BP, Chevron Corp., Mitsubishi Corp., Mitsui & Co. and Royal Dutch Shell are all joint venture (JV) partners in the NWS project.
