The Spanish energy provider Molgas Energía has announced that it has carried out the first LNG bunkering operation at the Port of Santander, Spain.
The company bunkered 40 metric t of the fuel for the LNG-fuelled cement carrier, MV Ireland. The tank-to-ship operation lasted five hours on 4 May, and follows a similar operation involving the cement carrier at the Port of Bilbao in March.
COO Juan Menchero added that further bunkering operations are expected to follow.
