Inpex has announced that two new work packages have been awarded for the Ichthys LNG project construction site, which is located at Bladin Point, Australia.
A contract worth AUS$200 million was awarded to Laing O’Rourke Australia, which will deliver a number of civil finishing works, including concrete pavements, hand railings and foundation works.
Meanwhile, a contract worth AUS$80 million was awarded to Territoria Civil, which will provide road and paving works. This will include the laying of asphalt and permanent traffic signage.
Inpex claims that two contracts will create more than 300 jobs, including work for local territory businesses. Currently, there are approximately 3500 Territorians working on the project.
