Annova LNG project advances with resumption of USACE permit review

According to the statement, this resumption supports the timeline to receive federal approval by July next year, as indicated in the August release of the FERC Notice of Schedule for the LNG project.
Annova LNG claims that USACE now has the requisite information to carry out a detailed review of the environmental impacts of an intrastate natural gas pipeline necessary to deliver feed gas to the site, as well as the terminal’s impacts. This review comes as part of USACE’s National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process. In the statement, Annova LNG claims that it is in process of securing 1 billion ft3/d of firm natural gas transportation from Agua Dulce to the project site, representing the total natural gas needs for the 6 million tpy LNG export project.
The CEO of Annova LNG, Omar Khayum, said: “Recent announcements to build 2 billion ft3/d of firm transportation natural gas pipeline supply capacity deliverable to Agua Dulce make South Texas a quickly evolving, low-cost supply hub with ready access to Waha, Katy and Houston Ship Channel natural gas pricing hubs.
“With firm natural gas transportation from Agua Dulce, Annova LNG will be able to secure access to a diversified, low-cost feed gas supply.”
Agua Dulce the main gas trading hub for South Texas. It is located near the epicentre of the Eagle Ford producing area, and provides connectivity to more than 10 existing interstate and intrastate pipelines that can access current gas production from the Permian Basin, as well as other regional gas producing basins.
Khayum added: “Resumption of the USACE permitting process that supports the FERC timeline, and securing firm transportation for the full natural gas needs of the project, strengthens our project’s position ahead of the competition.”
In the statement, Annova LNG claims that commercial operations are scheduled for 2024.
