Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) has announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement with Russian Zvezda shipyard during the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The cooperation agreement evaluates the shipyard’s ability to meet GTT’s construction standards, with a particular focus on safety and quality issues.
GTT claims that this new partnership will permit the construction of efficient LNG carriers in Russia, dedicated to the transport of LNG coming from onshore plants. GTT will provide its expertise to the shipyard for the membrane containment system construction and the material supply, as well as personnel training.
The Chairman and CEO of GTT, Philippe Berterottière, said: “It is a great opportunity for GTT to contribute to the development of the Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex.”
