LNG Industry,

Following Stena Line’s recent announcement that it has signed a contract for four gas-ready RoPax ferries, Deltamarin has released a statement confirming that it will deliver the engineering, procurement, construction and management (EPCM) package.

Deltamarin will serve as a designer and as a provider of project management services to support China’s AVIC Shipyard, which is building the vessels. The engineering package will include approval design, support in procurement handling and detail design.

Construction management will be carried out by Deltamarin Floating Construction in cooperation with AVIC. Master planning, procurement of project materials, material management, project information management and site supervision will also be included in the overall project management service.

The vessel concept was developed in close collaboration between Deltamarin and Stena. Fuel efficiency was given particular attention during the design phase, and the vessel complies with all of the latest rules and regulations regarding both safety and the environment.

Mika Laurilehto, the Managing Director of Deltamarin, said: “We are proud to be involved in this high-performance next-generation RoPax ferry construction in China. This will be the first time we combine the wide passenger vessel experience of Deltamarin Group with the best cost construction to satisfy the desires of a premium internationally operating ship owner.”
