PJ Valves (PJV) has announced that it has been awarded a US$650 000 contract by a major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor following a competitive tender.

The company will manufacture and supply more than 500 valves to an LNG modernisation project located in New Jersey, US.

In the statement, PJV claims that it will build and deliver ball, butterfly, gate, globe and check valves, all of which will be supplied in both cryogenic and non-cryogenic design. The cryogenic design ensures that they can operate successfully in low temperatures when gas is cooled and condensed into LNG. The carbon and stainless steel valves will be manufactured in PJV’s factories in India and Italy, and will range up to 12 in. in diameter and 2500 lb in pressure class.

Spencer Linsell, Group Business Development Director at PJV, said: “We’re delighted to be working with a new local end user in the US on this exciting project. Our team thrives on delivering innovative solutions and this demanding project will allow us to do just that. We’ll be able to demonstrate both our manufacturing and distribution capabilities, giving our client access to the best of both worlds from one supplier.”
