LNG Industry,

According to Reuters, Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is set to visit Latin America today.

Qatar is the world’s top LNG supplier, and currently has investments in Argentina through Qatar Petroleum. The Middle Eastern country is reportedly looking to expand into Latin America.

Reuters reports that Doha is looking to develop new trade and business partners after a rift in 2017 with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, as well as Egypt, which led to a boycott (both political and economic) of Qatar.

The Emir will reportedly visit a number of countries, including Argentina, Paraguay, Peru and Ecuador.
