Klaipedos Nafta commences allocation of LNG terminal capacities

AB Klaipedos Nafta has announced that it has started its yearly procedure for the allocation of LNG terminal capacities for the new gas year, which begins on 1 October 2019.

According to standard practice in the natural gas markets, capacities are allocated in advance, before the end of the current gas year.

In the statement, Klaipedos Nafta claims that it will allocate capacities according to the publicly announced Regulations for Use of Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal, which were verified and approved by the National Commission for Energy Control and Prices and the board of the company.

During the allocation procedure, the LNG regasification capacities and LNG reloading capacities shall be allocated. According to Klaipedos Nafta, the total volume of the LNG terminal capacity being allocated is 3.75 billion m3/yr, which is equivalent to 6.5 million m3/yr of LNG applying a relative coefficient of expansion of 1:578. In the statement, the company claims that it is constantly updating the information on its website regarding the unallocated capacities of the LNG terminal, which it claims shall be available for acquisition during the gas year as well.

The company concludes that it will accept the requests of potential LNG terminal users until 27 May 2019, 3:30 p.m. Lithuanian time.
