FID could be taken on PNW LNG project in coming months

LNG Industry,

According to Reuters, Petronas and its partners are aiming to take a final investment decision (FID) on the Pacific NorthWest LNG (PNW LNG) project within the coming months. However, the environmental review could lead to further delays. Reportedly, the project consortium was originally seeking to commence construction by the end of 2015.

The President of Pacific NorthWest LNG, Michael Culbert, reportedly said that that the company would hopefully be in a position to follow up on FID in late summer or early autumn 2016, depending on the timing of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency’s (CEAA) decision.

Reuters claims that Culbert was speaking before management changes, which were only recently announced. Whilst he will remain as CEO of Progress Energy Canada, Adnan Zainal Abidin, the Vice President of Petronas, will become President of Pacific NorthWest.
