According to Reuters, Israel’s Delek Drilling is currently exploring natural gas export opportunities with Egypt. Possible options on the table reportedly include the possibility of buying into an LNG terminal on Egypt’s northern coast.
Delek has existing partnerships with offshore gas fields in Israel and Cyprus, in addition to signed natural gas export deals with Egypt. The company is now looking to increase its exports of natural gas to Egypt.
According to its 2018 annual report, arrangements with LNG terminals in northern Egypt offer one way to increase Delek’s sales. These arrangements could reportedly take the form of either buying into the facilities themselves, or by simply purchasing liquefaction capacity.
