According to Reuters, the Chief Executive of Novatek, Leonid Mikhelson, has stated that the company is currently in negotiations with both European and Japanese lenders to borrow over €1 billion for the Yamal LNG project.
Reportedly, the company is in discussions with a number of European financial institutions, as well as the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).
Reuters reports that the CEO of JBIC, Tadashi Maeda, recently said that the bank would sign a contract to provide Novatek with a €200 million loan in December for the Yamal LNG project.
