The vessel was delivered by Cosco Dalian Shipyard Co. Ltd to BigRoll in Leiden, the Netherlands, and completes a series of four identical carriers. All four Finnish Swedish 1A Ice Class MC-Class vessels are explicitly designed for the marine transportation of major modules and equipment for large energy projects both on and offshore, and are capable of operating in the world’s most remote and inaccessible areas.
BigRoll Beaufort will enter a short-term project with Yamgaz – the consortium of Technip, JGC Corp. and Chiyoda – for module transportation services for the Yamal LNG project in Russia.
Bauke van Gent, Commercial Manager at BigRoll, said: “This contract with Yamal LNG shows our maritime expertise with a constant focus on safety, service and accountability. We will ensure a safe and effective transportation.”
