The global heavy transportation and lifting company, ALE, has announced that it has been awarded a Santos GLNG heavy haulage contract by Santos Queensland Upstream Developments, Australia. This will reflect early entry into the market for ALE’s Australian oil and gas team. The contract will include the provision of both heavy haulage and gauge transport support for the Santos GLNG project, which is located in the Surat Basin in Queensland.

Shane Dwyer, the General Manager – Heavy Haulage, said: “ALE is renowned for its onsite heavy lifting, project management works, industry-leading engineering and high safety focus. By securing this contract with Santos, a notable blue chip client, it marks a major cornerstone event and cements ALE as a creditable on road heavy haulage provider in Australia.”

In early 2015, ALE expanded its Australian services, including the relocation of onshore oil and gas drilling rigs, as well as the accompanying equipment. Combined with investment in personnel, as well as high end equipment to create a focused unit to serve the onshore oil and gas sector, and a fleet of prime movers, rig trucks, cranes and road trains, ALE claims that its team will be able to offer a solution for any drilling company.

Dwyer concluded: “ALE looks forward to building a long-term working relationship with the team at Santos.”
