Cheniere Energy has announced that its affiliate, Corpus Christi Liquefaction, LLC (CCL), will make a formal application through the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to commence construction on its Stage 3 construction project. The application will be filed in March 2016.
The expansion project will include two new liquefaction trains – bringing the total number of trains to five – an LNG storage tank, and a 21 mile long, 42 in. dia. pipeline. It will increase the expected aggregate nominal LNG production capacity at the project to approximately 22.5 million tpy.
