LNG Industry,
Burckhardt Compression has announced that it has delivered several reciprocating compressors to the Freeport LNG liquefaction and export project, located at Quintana Island, Texas, US.
The LNG project’s customers, CB&I and Chiyoda (engineering) and Zachary (construction), selected Burckhardt Compression due to its flexible compression solution that is efficient for the varying gas conditions at the Freeport LNG terminal. The Laby® Compressors adapt well to these conditions and allow oil-free compression of LNG boil-off gas (BOG) without gas pre-heating at start up.
The skid mounted and ready to bolt up reciprocating compressor systems will be delivered at the end of 2016.
Freeport LNG operates an existing LNG regasification terminal. It is constructing liquefaction infrastructure at the terminal to provide nominal export capacity of approximately 13.9 million tpy of LNG.
