Pakistan finalises LNG deal with Qatar

Reuters reports that Pakistan officials have finalised a 15 yr deal with Qatar for US$16 billion worth of LNG. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the Pakistani Energy Minister, stated that “We have finalised the deal. The first shipment is expected in December.”

The deal will mean that 1.5 million tpy of LNG will be imported from Qatar into Pakistan.

Abbasi suggested that this deal will not be the last with Qatar, as he claimed: “We are hopeful for similar deals in the future.”
