Wison Offshore & Marine (WOM) has announced that Wison (Nantong) Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (Wison Nantong yard) has held a groundbreaking ceremony for its LNG high end equipment upgrade and transformation project in the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

The WOM LNG high end equipment upgrade and transformation project aims to comprehensively upgrade and transform the Wison Nantong yard in terms of infrastructure, production capacity, and management and control process, with a planned investment of RMB 1.43 billion. There are plans to extend the existing dock to 370 m x 68 m; expand the general assembly site; build an SPB general assembly; a spray painting workshop; a comprehensive workshop; and outfitting dock. The project is expected to be completed in 2022.

After completion, the production capacity of Wison Nantong yard will reach: annual deliveries of five floating natural gas liquefaction units (FLNG); LNG carriers and floating storage regasification and power generation barge (FSRP); annual deliveries of 60 000 t of modules; annual deliveries of 20 LNG tanks for the floating facility. They may support the project with an annual output value of RMB 13.7 billion. It will not only help WOM break through the bottleneck of production capacity, but also further enhance the engineering and construction capacity of two core products: FLNG (liquefaction capacity: 0.5 - 5 million tpy) and FSRP (power generation capacity: 100 600 MW).

“Wison Offshore & Marine, a leading Natural Gas Monetisation Solutions provider, has been committed to offering the global energy industry with innovative and diversified approaches to monetise Natural Gas”, said An Wenxin, Chief Operating Officer of WOM. “We believe that after the completion of the upgrade and transformation project, it will effectively increase the competitive advantages of the WOM’s serialised large scale floating natural gas solutions in the market, and also better meet the needs of global clients for large scale floating natural gas facilities.”
