Second Bangladesh LNG import terminal hit by delay

According to the latest Reuters report, Bangladesh’s second LNG import terminal has been hit by a month-long delay. The intention was originally for the terminal to be commissioned this March, however it has been pushed back to 20 April.
Summit Corp, a subsidiary of Summit Power International, and its partner Mitsubishi Corp, jointly own the floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) terminal in question.
A spokeswoman from Summit Corp recently announced that the unit will be named Summit LNG, and will receive its commissioning cargo from Qatargas in Ras Laffan, Qatar, before commencing operations in Bangladesh. It is currently located in dry-dock in Nakilat’s NKOM yard in Ras Laffan.
