A Gazprom delegation, lead by the Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Vitaly Markelov, has visited Vietnam to discuss cooperation in LNG and natural gas vehicles (NGV). Cooperation in the Gazpromviet joint venture (JV) and the potential to supply LNG to Vietnam were discussed.
In particular, discussions were held regarding the implementation of the NGV project in Vietnam. The project aims to improve the effectiveness of the transport system in various areas of Southern Vietnam, and to do so in an environmentally friendly way. The project involves, amongst other things, the construction of NGV stations and an LNG plant.
In order to promote the development of the NGV market in Vietnam, Gazprom and PetroVietnam agreed to draft a comprehensive plan of action on the wider usage of natural gas as vehicle fuel.
