Connect LNG and SINTEF Energy to join forces

Published by , Editor
LNG Industry,

In collaboration with SINTEF Energy, Connect LNG has been awarded financing from the Norwegian MAROFF program to form the FlexMarin project. The funding is provided to support further cost effective innovations in the LNG value chain and beyond.

Connect LNG’s Universal Transfer System (UTS®), which was commercialised and delivered to Naturgy Energy Group in 2017, has already been recognised for its potential for value creation, at the same time as offering a cleaner alternative to fixed infrastructure solutions.

Connect LNG and SINTEF are no newcomers to MAROFF, both previously awarded with significant funding to reduce emissions in the maritime and power generation sector.

Through close collaboration with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), SINTEF Energy Research has access to more than 12 000 m2 of laboratories, providing an excellent platform for Connect LNG and SINTEF Energy Research to collaborate on their joint mission. In 2020 they will further develop cleaner energy solutions, meeting the growing global energy demand and delivering on the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
