America’s natural gas highway

LNG Industry,

Clean Energy Fuels Corporation has completed the first phase of its America’s Natural Gas highway (ANGH). This was achieved after finishing the construction of its LNG refuelling station in Matthews, Missouri.

In January of this year, Clean Energy Fuels began the initial phases of putting this project in place. The plan calls for the construction of 150 LNG fuelling stations along major heavy duty trucking routes. To aid with this project, Flying J truck stops along with a few other companies have become involved.

So far 70 LNG fuelling stations have been completed along routes from Los Angeles to Atlanta, Atlanta to Chicago to Texas, corridors in the Midwest, the Texas Triangle, and the Northeast.

Clean Energy also plan on launching an iPhone station locater app and has laid out plans for 2013. Next year the company is looking to construct 70 – 80 stations which will be near major trucking routes and substantial warehouse distribution centres throughout North America.
