WE Tech has released a statement claiming that it has received an order from Finnish ship owner, ESL Shipping, to provide its direct-drive permanent magnet shaft generator solution for two LNG-fuelled handysize bulk carriers. There is also an option to provide the solution for two additional vessels.
The two new 25 600 DWT vessels are owned by ESL Shipping and constructed at Qingshan Shipyard of Sinotrans & CSC SBICO in China. The delivery of the direct-drive permanent magnet shaft generators is scheduled for March 2017.
The vessels will commence operations in the Baltic Sea in early 2018.
