Cargotec’s MacGregor has secured a new contract from the Meyer Turku Shipyard for a complete turnkey delivery of RoRo cargo access and handling equipment for an LNG dual-fuel RoPax ferry, under construction for Estonia’s Tallink.
The 212 m long LNG dual-fuel ferry complies with the latest emission control area (ECA) regulations. Designed to carry 2800 passengers, the ferry will operate between Tallinn, Estonia and Helsinki, Finland.
MacGregor designs, supplies and installs the vital RoRo equipment for Tallink's advanced RoPax ferry.
MacGregor's RoRo equipment package includes a bow door, bow and stern ramps/doors, front and rampway doors, hoistable and movable ramps, lifting platform, stores hatches, doors for passengers, pilots and bunkering, and associated hydraulic power packs.
The contract includes design, hardware and installation, with deliveries planned during 2016. The completed vessel is scheduled for delivery in early 2017.
