LNG Industry,
The AiP was granted based on its Rule Part GF (regulation for ships using low-flashpoint fuels) incorporating the “International Code of Safety for Ships using Gases or other Low-flashpoint Fuels (IGF Code), IMO Res. MSC.391(95) and MSC.458(101)”.
The design features two independent Type C LNG fuel tanks installed on its deck that do not require a secondary barrier, and that minimise the impact of LNG fuel on cargo tank volume. The vessel’s design enables the ship to run for approximately 40 days on LNG fuel, thereby ensuring a longer navigational cruising range. According to the statement, the LNG fuel tank and gas piping from the gas bunker station to the engine room have been optimised by positioning the fuel control room between the engine room below the upper deck and the cargo tank, enabling the smooth supply of LNG fuel to the main engine, main power generator, and auxiliary boiler.
