According to Reuters, Litgas has announced that the Arctic Aurora LNG tanker is expected to travel from Norway to deliver an LNG cargo to Lithuania on 15 -16 December 2015.

This is a delayed delivery date, as the cargo was originally scheduled for delivery on 29 November 2015. Nonetheless, Lithuania will still receive approximately 140 000 m3 of LNG from Statoil.

In 2014, Litgas agreed to purchase approximately 540 million m3/yr of gas from Statoil, via the Klaipedos LNG import terminal.

Since December 2014, five LNG cargoes have been delivered from Norway to Lithuania. This meets approximately 18% of the nation’s gas demand, with the rest provided by Gazprom through pipelines.
