Qatar Petroleum has announced the delivery of the 500th LNG cargo from its affiliate, Qatar Liquefied Gas Company (2), to the South Hook LNG Terminal in Milford Haven, UK.
The landmark delivery was made on Thursday 24 March 2016, on board the Al-Hamla Q-Flex LNG vessel.
Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the President and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, said: “This milestone reaffirms the importance of Qatari LNG as pillar for the energy industry and the security of global gas supplies. It also highlights Qatar Petroleum’s commitment to the reliable supply of clean energy to its customers around the world.”
The milestone shipment to South Hook raises the all-time total number of Qatari LNG cargoes imported into the UK to more than 600.
The South Hook LNG Terminal is a joint venture between affiliates of Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil and Total. It is part of the Qatargas 2 value chain, which is a fully integrated LNG shipping project from the Ras Laffan Industrial City in the State of Qatar to international markets, including the UK.
