Ocean Installer to procure and install spread mooring chain system for Malta FSU

Ocean Installer has released a statement claiming that it has won a contract for the procurement and installation of a spread mooring chain system for a floating storage unit (FSU) project in Malta.
The installation and hook-up will be carried out in Marsaxlokk Bay, where the FSU will be based. The vessel will regasify LNG to provide energy for the onshore Delimara power station’s electricity generators. ElectroGas Malta is the client.
The CEO of Ocean Installer, Steinar Riise, said: “With this project, we further consolidate our position as a provider of competitive mooring services, and again proving that our strategy of casting a wider net in a challenging market is successful.”
The company claims that it will manage the project from its offices in Stavanger, Norway, and Aberdeen, Scotland. Onshore engineering will start with immediate effect.
