Reports suggest that Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) and Mitsui Corp. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to study building an LNG regasification plant in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
It is hoped that the new LNG terminal will supply more fuel for local manufacturers and power generators.
The MoU was also signed by the government of Rio Grande do Sul.
If built, the plant would be Petrobras' fourth regasification terminal to import LNG.
