The Port of Milford Haven in the UK has confirmed that its pilot vessel, St Davids, made hard contact with an LNG carrier on 10 July during a routine transfer of pilot operation.
As a result of the collision with the Lijmiliya LNG carrier, three of the five Port of Milford Haven crew members sustained minor injuries, which required hospital attention. All three crew members are now said to be recovering.
Although the pilot vessel sustained significant damage, the Port of Milford Haven confirmed that there was no pollution as a result of the incident and normal shipping operations have resumed.
The Port of Milford Haven said that it has begun an investigation process into the exact cause of the incident.
