Polish LNG terminal could receive first LNG cargo by November 2015

According to Reuters, the first LNG cargo will be delivered to Poland’s new LNG terminal by the end of November, or the beginning of December 2015. The terminal is in Swinoujscie, Poland and cost approximately US$942 million. Whilst the plant was originally planned for completion in 2014, it has been delayed numerous times. Now, it is estimated that full commercial operations will start in May 2016, with the terminal reaching full capacity by 2018 (5 billion m3).
Andrzej Czerwiski, the Polish Treasury Minister, reportedly said: “The gas, which will arrive now, will not be burnt... It will be gradually pumped into the distribution system […] The real, automatic gas distribution will happen in the second quarter of next year.”
