BAM Infraconsult awarded Mundra LNG contract

BAM Infraconsult bv, trading under Delta Marine Consultants (DMC), has signed a license agreement with Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone for the application of Xbloc breakwater armour units in the Mundra LNG project.
The LNG import terminal is located in the Gulf of Kutch in the northwestern Indian state of Gujarat. The Xblocs will protect against high cyclone waves. This will be the first application of Xblocs in India.
Construction of this coastal protection will start after the completion of the physical model tests that are currently underway. Construction of the Xblocs will begin later this year and should be completed in 2016.
Xbloc is an innovative and patented concrete armor unit, developed by BAM for coastal protection and breakwaters, which has been successfully used worldwide since 2004.
