Reuters is reporting that Brazil’s Petrobras will shortly begin leasing its LNG regasification terminal and associated gas pipeline. This infrastructure is located in the north of the country, in the state of Bahia.
The leasing process is being undertaken in compliance with a recent agreement with Brazil’s antitrust regulator Cade, which aims to open up the Brazilian natural gas market to encourage competition.
Petrobras has reportedly initiated pre-bid procedures for interested parties in preparation for the auctions.
