Pakistan Prime Minister attends meeting on LNG

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, has attended a meeting to discuss issues surrounding LNG. After being briefed on the current status of LNG imports and other LNG related projects in Pakistan, the Prime Minister concluded that all possible measures must be taken in order to ensure the completion of LNG power projects on schedule. In particular, he was told that 3600 MW will be added as a result of LNG from mid 2017.

Additionally, he added that Pakistan’s Ministry of Petroleum and Ministry of Water and Power must work together in order to help complete these projects. The Prime Minister was confident that the issue of load shedding was being addressed by the Pakistani Government.
