SIAD Macchine Impianti has announced the positive results of a performance test carried out on a compressor for boil-off gas (BOG) service.
The compressor was sold to a German company, which is a world leader in engineering and technical gases. The final destination of this unit will be an LNG terminal in North-Eastern China.
The compressor is an HD model two-stage compressor with an installed capacity of 900 kW.
A special cryogenic operational test was carried out using nitrogen. This investigated functional performance at operating conditions of 12.8 bar pressure in discharge and an inlet temperature of -160°C . The test involved a cryogenic storage tank for LIN and an atmospheric vaporisation system.
The project was developed paying attention to the choice of materials and to inherent ergonomic factors: given the amount of power involved – and consequently the overall bulk of the frame – its being mounted on skids represents a bonus.
The planning and construction specifics fully comply with principal international standards, and in particular with regulations concerning exportation and installation in China.
With this important contract, SIAD Macchine Impianti has installed approximately 300 compressors in China alone.
