Empresa Nacional del Petróleo (ENAP), through its subsidiary ENAP Refinerías S.A., has announced that it has signed a natural gas supply agreement with Colbún. The three-year supply agreement covers the period 2016 – 2018.
The agreement forms part of ENAP’s 2014 - 2025 Strategic Plan alignments to encourage the use of natural gas in Chile’s energy matrix. It will allow Colbún to use the gas in its combined cycle plants.
Last year, ENAP created a new business unit dedicated to gas and electricity, with a focus on LNG.
ENAP has a 20% share in Chile’s Quintero LNG receiving terminal, and is one of the facility’s three importers.
