LNG Industry,

Bestobell has received a contract to supply cryogenic valves to Zhuhai City Gas Pipeline Co. Ltd in Zhuhai City, China.

Bestobell will manufacture emergency shut off valves, globe valves, pressure regulators, as well as relief and check valves to the Zhuhai Qianshan LNG storage station.

More than 20 storage stations in China are now using Bestobell’s valves. The order follows the recent announcement that the company has also received two major new orders in the country. The first is to supply cryogenic valves to Guangzhou Shipyard International for use in a new ferry’s LNG fuel gas system, while the second will see Bestobell Marine produce its small cryogenic miniature needle globe valves for the Hudong shipyard in Shanghai, where they will be installed on four LNG carriers.

Bestobell and South China Special Gas Institute Co. Ltd have been working together for 10 years to increase the market share of cryogenic valves in China.

As the Chinese Government plans to import more LNG to strengthen its environmental credentials, a huge number of LNG filling stations will be built in the next 5 - 10 years. It is estimated that the total number of LNG filling stations in 2020 will increase to 10 000, which is five times the existing number.

Steve Fidler, Sales Director for Bestobell, said: “China has been an important market for our cryogenic valves for many years. This is an exciting new contract win which is a result of our close working relationship with our agent South China Special Gas Institute Co.”
