More cost-effective cooling of transformer oil

With its new Kelvion TOAC Smart, Kelvion introduces a transformer-oil air cooler that is 30 to 35 % more economical in purchase than an individually designed premium cooler.

This has become possible by reduction in the number of components. Unlike the other TOAC coolers, for example, the Smart version functions without a tube sheet – instead, its heat exchange tubes are directly brazed into the collector manifold.

Various model choices allow adaptation of the new coolers to widely encountered applications. Depending on its size, the Kelvion TOAC Smart, for example, offers cooling duty of 100 kW for the smallest model, with 1 fan – and up to 600 kW for the largest version, with 4 fans.

The casing is made of sendzimir-galvanised carbon steel with high-quality powder coating. The tubes of the compact-finned heat exchanger are made of copper. The fins, depending on ambient conditions, can be made of copper, aluminium, or aluminum-magnesium alloy, or can be ordered with Blygold coating – which allows use in corrosion class C4.

As a result, the Kelvion TOAC Smart represents an especially cost-effective solution for the cooling of transformer oil.
