Telops launches Hyper-Cam Methane gas detector

LNG Industry,

Telops, the provider of high performance infrared cameras and hyperspectral imaging systems for the defense and security, environmental, industrial and research markets, has announced the launch of its newest gas imaging camera the Hyper-Cam Methane.

This unique gas detection camera has been designed to detect, identify and quantify small quantities of methane even allowing the mapping of atmospheric methane at concentrations as low as 1 ppm. The Hyper-Cam Methane adds a unique, highly specialised, hyperspectral imaging sensor to the Hyper-Cam line of hyperspectral cameras. This expansion reinforces Telops’ position as a leader in the hyperspectral camera market.

This specialised hyperspectral imaging camera has been specifically designed for use by environmental and research scientists who need to have a clear picture of the quantity of methane in a given scene. This instrument is ideal for landfill monitoring, biogas emission measurements, characterisation of natural gas leaks in hard to reach areas, LNG leak detection and quantification as well as the detection, identification and quantification of greenhouse gases in agriculture, environmental, and forensic research.

“This very specialised methane detection imaging camera follows the evolution of Telops’ product line helping scientists benefit from high performance, easy to use hyperspectral cameras tailored for their specific methane detection applications,” commented Martin Chamberland, Product Line Manager and CTO at Telops.
