GTT receives eight LNG tank design orders

Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) has announced that it has received orders concerning the tank design of eight new LNG carriers.

According to the statement, seven of these vessels will be constructed at Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) in South Korea on behalf of three shipowners based in America, Oceania and Bermuda.

GTT claims that its Mark III Flex technology has been selected to equip the LNG tanks of six LNG carriers ordered by SHI, whilst its Mark III Flex+ technology has been selected to equip the seventh.

Each unit will offer a capacity of 174 000 m3. The vessels are scheduled for delivered between the end of 2021 and the end of 2022.

Information regarding the eighth carrier remains confidential at this stage.
