Qatar to order 60 new LNG carriers

According to Reuters, Qatar’s energy minister has outlined plans to order 60 news LNG carriers.
At a recent bilateral summit, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Qatar’s energy minister and deputy chairman of Qatar Petroleum, declared his expectations of cooperation with experienced Korean shipyards on the construction of the vessels.
In the past, almost all of Qatar’s LNG carriers were built by South Korea’s top three shipyards.
No financial details regarding this latest plan have been released.
