Crowley seeks financing for LNG fuelled ConRo ships

Crowley is reportedly seeking a Title XI ship financing guarantee for the two LNG fuelled ConRo ships the company has ordered from shipbuilder VT Halter Marine.

The latest listing of Title XI applications released by the US Maritime Administration shows that on 30 May, Crowley ConRo filed an application for Title XI loan guarantee support for a requested loan amount of US$ 362,700,000 over 25 years on an actual cost of US$ 414,600,000.

Crowley’s application is the largest on this current list, followed by an application filed on 14 May by TOTE Shipholdings, for a US$ 320 million guarantee over 25 years on the two LNG fuelled containerships it has on order at NASSCO, San Diego.
