TGE Marine signs new LNG design contract

TGE Marine Gas Engineering has signed a contract with Anthony Veder Group to design the LNG fuel gas system and the cargo handling system of one firm, and one optional, vessel. The vessel will have an LNG capacity of 18 000 m3 and will be built by German shipbuilder, Neptun Werft GmbH. This vessel is a larger version of the LNG shuttle carrier, Coral Energy, which was also built by Meyer Werft and has an LNG capacity of 15 400 m3.
Manfred Küver, the CEO of TGE Marine, said: “We are extremely pleased to have been selected again by Meyer/Neptun Werft as supplier for the gas handling system […] With three currently contracted LNG shuttle carrier newbuildings (30 k plus 28 k in China with COSCODalian and Xinle Shipyard plus 18 k with Neptun) under construction and four ships in operation, TGE underlines its leading market position in this new segment.”
The vessel, which has been long-term chartered by Skangass, will serve the Kattegat, Baltic Sea and Skagerrak regions. It is expected to be delivered in late 2017.
