LNG containerships under construction

The Port of Rotterdam reports that there is an increased number of LNG containerships under construction. According to a Dynamar-assessment, 49 ships of 1380 – 21 500 TEU are on order. They will be able to use LNG as a fuel or will be ‘LNG-ready’ upon their delivery.
All of the containerships will be dual-fuel. The first three LNG-ready ships have already been delivered (UASC, 3 x 15 000 TEU units). Tentative delivery dates for the remaining ships is between April 2015 and August 2018.
