Damen Shiprepair Brest (DSB) received its seventh LNG booking for the drydocking, maintenance and repair of the LNG carrier Bachir Chihani. The Hyproc Shipping owned and managed vessel will arrive on 25 November.
Jos Goris, managing director of DSB, said: “We are very pleased with this order, since it ensures the continuation of our LNG activities with our highly appreciated client, Hyproc Shipping.”
Mr Goris continued: “The yard’s workforce has shown their LNG skills and experience previously in executing secure works on LNG contracts. Clearly, our quality efforts, resulting in the LRQA ISO 9001:2008 certificate, and all other measures taken in order to improve our efficiency, have resulted in acquiring these contracts in a fierce competitive environment. Our client may be assured that DSB will fulfill its contractual obligations with vigor and determination.”
The scope of work on the Bachir Chihani is extensive and reaches close to 30 000 man hours. The vessel is expected to stay close to a month in drydock no. 3.
