LNG Industry,

Gary Smith has returned to Golar LNG Ltd.  He will provide commercial support to the company, particularly in relation to LNG ship chartering activities and development of Floating LNG (FLNG) activities.

Smith recently worked as General Manager Supply Chain for Caltex Australia Ltd, although he had previously occupied the role of CEO of Golar Management between April 2006 and July 2009.

Prior to joining Golar in 2006, Mr Smith worked for STASCO (Shell Trading & Shipping Co.) in London in the position of General Manager Commercial Shipping and also served as President and Director of SIGGTO (Society of International Gas Tanker & Terminal Operators) during the period from 2002 to 2009.

LNG carrier fleet and FLNG

The Board of Golar LNG believes that Smith’s experience will be extremely valuable, particularly in view of Golar LNG’s ambitions to maximise the value of its recently expanded LNG carrier fleet through combining FLNG activities with FSRUS and traditional shipping.
