EGAT to receive second LNG spot cargo from Petronas

According to Reuters, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has committed to purchasing a second LNG spot cargo from Malaysia's Petronas.
This second, 65 000 t, LNG cargo will reportedly be delivered to PTT’s Map Ta Phut LNG receiving terminal in eastern Thailand. EGAT purchased its first LNG spot cargo from Petronas in December 2019.
According to Thailand’s energy minister, these two cargoes are serving as a test run, based on which the viability of potential future spot cargo purchases will be assessed.
